Adaptation Policy Support
Climate change adaptation remains the priority for the IGAD region due to its current and future vulnerabilities. The IGAD member states have developed climate change adaptation relevant national policies, plans, strategies, and action plan to enhance long-term resilience and adaptive capacities.
What We Do
- We provide support for the enhanced implementation of National Adaptation Plans (NAP) and Updated NDCs of member countries.
- We support the harmonisation of member states' adaptation through the development of a stand-alone regional Adaptation Strategy,
- We support and advocate for enhanced adaptation funding to implement priority adaptation actions in line with NAPs and Updated NDCs.
