Climate change-induced shocks, including floods, sea level rise, storms, droughts and heat waves, poses a significant threat to water, energy, transport, telecommunication, education, and waste infrastructures in the IGAD region. Investment in climate-resilient infrastructure requires long-term sustainability to be included as a core consideration from the earliest stages of infrastructure project planning, thus creating an opportunity to utilise the available resources efficiently and sustainably.
